Yant Phutson / Yant Phra Chao Ha Phra Ong (Concentric Five-Buddha Ribbon)
One of the most recognizable reverses on Thai monk coins and Phra Pidta tablets, formed by nesting concentric looped Khom 'Phut' (พุท) characters containing the five syllables of the Bhaddakappa Buddhas.
Constructed from a continuous ribbon-like loop forming two or three nested trefoil/quatrefoil 'Phut' (พุท) knots. Inside the central and lateral loops sit the five Khom characters 'Na', 'Mo', 'Put', 'Tha', 'Ya', crowned above by one or three Unalome spirals.
Because 'Na Mo Put Tha Ya' is considered the Mother Syllable (Mae Thart Yai) of Thai Buddhist lithography representing the five Buddhas of the Present Fortunate Aeon (Kakusandha, Konagamana, Kassapa, Gotama, and Metteyya), Yant Phutson is stamped on thousands of Rian monk coins and pressed into the backs of Phra Pidta and Phra Somdej tablets.
