Kruba Srivichai
Krubaเจ้าศรีวิชัย สิริวิชโย (Kruba Srivichai, BE 2421–2481 / 1878–1939 CE), revered as the 'Saint of Lanna' (Nak Bun Haeng Lanna), was born in Li District, Lamphun Province and served as Abbot of Wat Ban Pang. Operating within the autonomous Lanna monastic custom (Yuan Nikaya), he mobilized tens of thousands of northern devotees to restore over 100 temples across Chiang Mai, Lamphun, Lampang, and Chiang Rai, culminating in the 11-kilometer mountain road to Wat Phra That Doi Suthep built manually without state funds in 5 months and 22 days (BE 2477–2478 / 1934–1935 CE). His most famous medallion, the BE 2482 Rian Sirivijayo, was minted in Bangkok for his royal-sponsored cremation and consecrated at Wat Suthat under Somdej Phra Sangharaja (Pae).
