Yant Duang Phichai Songkhram & Twelve-Zodiac Mandala (Jatukam Ramathep)
Concentric cosmological mandala combining a central solar/astrological chart (Duang), eight perimeter Phra Rahu figures, and the twelve Naksat animal zodiac emblems of Nakhon Si Thammarat.
Constructed as three concentric rings on circular cookies (Luk Glom / 5 cm cookies): the inner hub holds the planetary horary chart (Duang), the middle ring displays the 12 Naksat zodiac animals (from Rat to Boar, the civic symbols of the 12 tributary cities of Nakhon Si Thammarat), and the outer bezel seats eight Rahu eclipse masks devouring the moon.
Designed by Police Major General Khun Phantharak Rajadej and Ajarn Wetchayan in BE 2530 (1987 CE) for the erection of the Nakhon Si Thammarat City Pillar Shrine (Lak Mueang), drawing on Southern Thai Srivijaya and Wat Phra Mahathat Woramahawihan architectural reliefs.
