From a doctrinal standpoint, traditional monastic consecration of Kuman Thong at Wat Sam Ngam is grounded in the Abhidhammattha-sangaha: the master inscribes the 4 ultimate realities (Citta, Cetasika, Rupa, Nibbana — abbreviated as Ci-Ce-Ru-Ni) and the 32 parts of the body (Akarn 32) to establish a mindful dharma attendant under the precept of the Triple Gem.
At Wat Chedi in Sichon(Nakhon Si Thammarat), local Southern tradition links Ai Khai to the young monastic attendant said to have accompanied Luang Pu Thuad during his pilgrimage.
