01Literal Translation (EN)
Drawn from the Pathamasambodhi Katha(the Siamese royal biography of the Buddha), where the Earth Goddess Vasundhara(Phra Mae Thorani) rises at the foot of the Vajrasana throne to wring the water of libation (Truat Nam) from her hair ('Tassa Kesaro'), dispersing the army of Mara.
In the Surin Khmer-Isaan lineage of Luang Pu Hong Prompanyo (Wat Phetchaburi, whose signature seed mantra is 'Na-Ma-Pa-Tha') and Luang Phor Guay (Wat Kositaram), Phra Mae Thorani is venerated as the supreme witness of ethical steadfastness and land-stewardship.
