The 4-syllable Heart of the Four Noble Truths (Hua Jai Ariyasaj 4: Dukkha, Samudaya, Magga, Nirodha)
01Literal Translation (EN)
Combines the traditional Siamese folklore stanza ('Om Pu Chao Khao Khiao...') with the Pali verse Ehi Cittang Piyang Mama and the Four Noble Truths seed syllables Thu-Sa-Ma-Ni(Dukkha, Samudaya, Nirodha, Magga).
In Thai Buddhist hagiography, Nang Kwak is identified with Suphawadi, daughter of the merchant สุจิตพราหมณ์ (Sujit Brahmin) of Macchikasanda, who offered alms to Phra Maha Kassapa and Phra Sivali and received their blessing of commercial prosperity.
Classical miniature bronze and carved-bone Nang Kwak figures by Luang Phor Im of Wat Hua Khao (Suphan Buri) and Luang Phor Aant of Wat Phra Yatikaram are consecrated with this verse.
